Waikiki Beach

Didn't do a whole lot today. Left San Diego at 10:30am and had 5 hr 30min flight to Honolulu. Even though flight was longer than yesterday's from Atlanta to San Diego, it didn't seem like it. Then had an hour on shuttle bus to hotel. Wouldn't you know it our hotel was last hotel at end of Waikiki Beach. Once we got luggage to room we went out to walk beach for an hour or so.
Tomorrow we have tour meeting in morning then have the rest of day free. We found a couple of places that rent vehicles close to hotel, so we'll probably head out to North Shore tomorrow.

Arrived in San Diego

We made it half way. Left Grand Rapids at 12:50 and flew to Atlanta. Had lunch then off to San Diego. Four hours later we landed in San Diego. Arrived at about 6:30 San Diego time. Karen's Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Alan picked us up at the airport and brought us to their home. Had a wonderful dinner with them, then off to bed to get ready for another long flight tomorrow.

Cross Country skiing

What a gorgeous day for cross-country skiing.

Karen and I took advantage of the sunshine and crisp temperature to enjoy some cross country skiing at Pigeon Creek Park in West Michigan. The sun was out and the skiing was great. We even managed to go down "Pigeon Plunge" with killing ourselves.

Winter Carnival

Had a great weekend at MTU with our son, Mitchell. This was winter carnival for MTU. Weather was great most of the weekend, but turned nasty Saturday afternoon through Sunday. Took us 13 hours to get home. We were stuck just north of Macinac Bridge for 3 hours. I guess the winds were clocked at 65 mph on the bridge.
